Student Financial Services lists these part time positions for Students who qualify for the Federal Work Study Program. The positions range from clerical work to house keeping.

To apply for any of these positions, you must be a current Missouri Baptist University student and have a completed Financial Aid file.

The Federal Work Study program is designed to help undergraduate students with financial need meet educational expenses through meaningful employment. The Office of Student Financial Services provides students with a web site to help students find part-time employment positions on campus or off campus (at an approved community service site). The amount you earn cannot exceed your total Federal Work-Study award. Students are paid for hours worked on a monthly basis.

Job Code 210 - Production Technology Assistant

Special Events - Production Technology Assistant (Lighting/Graphics)
Duties: Assist the Technical Coordinator in enhancing weekly Chapel worship experience through the creative tools of production technology. The vision and goal of the production staff is to create an immersive worship experience, not a distracting experience. The assistant will aid in reaching this goal through the setup, design and operation of lighting instruments, and computer graphics. Depth of involvement in these areas is based on the student's level of interest in the subject, professionalism in handling expensive equipment, maturity as an individual, and willingness to learn. Potential responsibilities include: Operate front-of-house lighting console, and in-house graphics.
Student needs to be available Thursdays from 8am -1pm. Time is slightly flexible with remainder hours arranged around classes. This job is a good fit for an individual with a passion for the implementation of production technology in the worship arts but not limited to such.
Skills: A passion to learn what you don't know weighs more than knowing without a passion; therefore, experience is not required, but interest and passion is. Student must have a creative mind, be organized, patient, trustworthy, dependable, with good people skills, and have an interest in lighting/visual techwork.

Description: Responsibilities include meeting with students one-on-one to coach them through various parts of the writing process, helping create handouts and workshops related to writing, and assisting the Writing Lab Coordinator as needed; must be familiar with MLA and APA style and have an instructor's recommendation.

Job Code 225 - Public Safety Office Assistant

Public Safety - Office Assistant
Duties: Under the direct supervision of the Director of Public Safety, the Administrative Assistant is responsible for completing administrative duties within the MBU Office of Public Safety, providing administrative assistance in compiling and publishing Emergency Management and Security plans. This position will also support the universities efforts in Safety and Security by helping to maintain the mandatory Safety and Security documents in an organized and orderly fashion. This will aid in safety and security planning. These individuals will help prepare security and fire safety presentations that will be presented to the Universities student body. The position requires about 10 hours a week.
Skills: Must be self-motivated and capable of following set procedures with the ability to suggest and implement adjustments as demands change. This person must be able to work both independently and within a group setting. This individual must have strong communication skills and the ability to deal with Public Safety staff and administrators of the University as well local Law Enforcement personnel as needed in a professional manner. Must be organized and responsibly handle confidential information. This person must possess computer skills including familiarity with all Microsoft Office products and other computer software. These individuals must be able to adapt and learn new software products that are unique to safety and security.

Description: The ASC is expanding the Tutoring Services program and looking for tutors in the following subjects: math, biology, chemistry, physics, accounting, economics, music theory, speech, journalism, exercise science, and psychology. Responsibilities include meeting with students one-on-one to tutor in specific subjects, attending monthly meetings and training sessions, and becoming familiar with the various learning styles. Must have an instructor's recommendation. Also, applicants should note on the application which subject they are interested in tutoring.
Note: This position does NOT require you to be federal work study eligible. All qualified students are encouraged to apply.
