MBU named 9th in St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s Top Workplaces

Missouri Baptist University has ranked ninth in the 2021 St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s annual Top Workplace for large business listings.

MBU has been consecutively named a Top Workplace for nine years, and is the only higher education institution to be named a top workplace. Earlier this year MBU was one of only two universities in the nation to be awarded through Top Workplaces USA.

The list was published on Friday, June 18, and is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to an organization’s success including mission alignment, execution and connection.

“MBU’s continual recognition as a Top Workplace reaffirms our commitment to our Christ-centered mission and to fostering a culture where employees feel engaged and are able to flourish,” said Dr. Keith Ross, MBU president. “Our talented faculty and staff are second to none and work enthusiastically to carry out the mission of MBU every day. As we faced the pandemic this past year, MBU employees were dedicated to serving our students and each other. We celebrate this special recognition because it is based on the insights of our valued team members.”

With more than 700 employees, MBU provides full-time faculty and staff comprehensive medical plans, which cover the individual’s premiums at 100 percent. In addition, MBU participates in a notable retirement program.

Employees who have worked full time for one year and their dependents may enroll in undergraduate courses tuition-free, and employees are eligible for 50 percent tuition concession for graduate courses. Employees have substantial time off with vacation, sick days, and nine paid holidays, in addition to spring break and Christmas break per department requirements. Employees receive free membership to MBU’s Sports and Recreation Complex, offering access to an indoor track, a state-of-the-art training and fitness center and free fitness classes.

Missouri Baptist University is a Christ-centered university located in Saint Louis. MBU offers more than 40 undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees in education, business and religion and its new terminal degree, the Doctor of Education.
