Marketing Program Overview

In the College of Business & Entrepreneurship’s School of Management & Marketing, the marketing program prepares students to explore and develop marketing competencies to meet future business challenges and opportunities in a biblical, Christ-centered context. Being a marketing student at MBU means learning vital skills for the real-world marketplace, understanding the foundations of marketing practice and learning about current technologies. A marketing student experiences real-world research and real-world projects. College of Business & Entrepreneurship students are encouraged to join the opportunities for networking, such as the Career & Internship Fair, with students, faculty, and professionals to identify a career path where they can make an impact for God’s glory.

Marketing Certificate Requirements

A total of 30 semester hours is required to earn the Marketing Certificate. Transfer credit will be accepted into this certificate program from an accredited college or school up to a maximum of 20 hours, up to 9 hours of which may be earned through credit by examination and/or portfolio assessment of prior learning. Portfolio credit is only available to those students who have completed a minimum of 12 semester hours in residency at Missouri Baptist University. Students must complete a minimum of 10 semester hours in residency at Missouri Baptist University to earn the Marketing Certificate.

A student must earn a grade of C or better in all courses taken to meet the Thirty-Hour Marketing Certificate requirements. The student must have an overall grade point average of 2.5 or better for the awarding of the Marketing Certificate.

The Business Administration minor will be granted to all majors in the College of Business & Entrepreneurship, except Business Administration, Applied Management, and Organizational Leadership, because of completing the minor requirements.

  • At least 24 of the last 32 hours taken at Missouri Baptist University
  • Cumulative GPA of at least 2.50 on a 4.00 scale (those seeking certification must achieve a GPA of 2.75)
  • At least 42 hours of Upper Division (54 for a dual degree)
  • At least 120 total credit hours (144 for a dual degree)
