This major is available as both a stand-alone (Birth through Grade 3) and as a combined major with Elementary Education (Birth through Grade 6), Early Childhood Special Education (Birth through Grade 3 or Grade 6), and/or Special Education Cross-categorical Disabilities Mild/Moderate.
Undergraduate degree-seeking students must meet all assessment requirements for certification before degrees will be conferred for professional education programs, including the following: 1) passing the Professional Development Folio (semester prior to student teaching); 2) passing score on the required content assessment(s) for each area of certification for which recommendation is sought; and 3) achieving a passing composite score on the Missouri Educator Evaluation System (MEES) summative evaluation (completed during student teaching) for teacher candidates.
