Dr. Tamrat Gashaw earned his first M.A. in International Economics from Addis Ababa University in 2005, followed by a second M.A. in 2010, and completed his Ph.D. in Economics from Western Michigan University in 2012. With a diverse professional background, he has served in roles such as Loan Officer at Development Bank, Market Expert at Export Promotion Agency, and Economic Researcher in the Macroeconomic Research Division at the Economics Association. Alongside his corporate experience, Dr. Gashaw has been teaching since 2006, holding positions at Addis Ababa University and Wartburg College, where he taught a range of economics courses. Since July 2018, he has been a Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Columbia University, teaching courses in Financial Economics, Econometrics, and ESG Investing, among others. He also serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at NYU.
