The Office of Student Accessibility Services is here to help MBU Early College Partnership dual credit/Achieve students and dual enrolled/homeschooled students who are seeking accommodations. Below is the process for high school students to seek accommodations at MBU.
To qualify for services, students must self-identify and must register each year with the MBU Office of Student Accessibility Services using the following process.
Step 1: Submit Documentation to the Office of Student Accessibility
The student must complete the following TWO pieces of documentation. Failure to complete BOTH will delay the application process.
- MBU Accommodation Application Form: This online form requires an attached 504 plan, IEP, or doctor’s note that verifies the need for accommodations. The form will be routed directly to MBU’s Office of Student Accessibility Services who will review the documentation and issue approved accommodations.
- MBU Release of Information Form: This form must be e-mailed directly to Accessibility@mobap.edu
Step 2: Documentation Review
The MBU Student Accessibility Office will review the documentation received. Please allow a maximum of 5 business days for review.
Step 3: Receive a Verification of Individual Student Accommodation (VISA)
If approved, MBU’s Office of Student Accessibility Services will issue a Verification of Individual Student Accommodation (VISA), which will list the student’s accommodations. VISAs are typically issued within 5 days of the time all documentation has been received.
Step 4: VISA Delivery
In the case of an ECP student who is attending a partnering high school, the VISA will be routed back through the Director of MBU ECP, who will send it to the high school ECP coordinator or guidance counselor. The coordinator/counselor will then distribute the VISA to the high school teacher(s) in which the student is enrolled in ECP courses. If the student is dual enrolled/homeschooled, the Office of Student Accessibility will send the approved VISA directly to the student who will be responsible for sending the VISA to the student’s professors.
