Live At The Last Hotel, with STL Rhythm Collaborative

Based on true events, Live At The Last Hotel is named for the jazz album by the Hard Bop Messengers, released in 2022. Live At The Last Hotel, written by John Covelli, utilizes vocals and unique musical phrasing to tell the story of the hustle and bustle of a St. Louis hotel staff and its guests as they move through the hotel, “Meeting Friends,” enjoying the “Rooftop View,” and “Make the Beds.”
The live performance is a celebration of various dance styles and live music. The musicians of the Hard Bop Messengers are featured and interact with the dancers during the show. The cast of dancers will feature the professional tap ensemble, moSTLy TAP, of STL Rhythm Collaborative as well as St. Louis jazz and modern dancers. Choreography by Cecil Slaughter, Erin Morris, and Maria Majors will bring the dancers to life as hotel guests, staff, and even the traffic preventing the band leader from making it to his gig in the hotel lounge. Join us after the performance for a 20 minute Q&A with the cast.
