General Description
The duties of the Graduate Assistant – Athletic Performance will be to assist the Director of Athletic
Performance in all areas of the Athletic Performance program. This will include, but not limited to, the items listed in this job description. The term of this job description is from July 1 to May 10, or the academic year as outlined by Missouri Baptist University.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or related field
- A nationally recognized strength & conditioning certification (CSCS, CSCCa) by the start date
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification
- Experience in developing and maintaining athletic performance programs for student-athletes at the
high-school or collegiate level - This position will require 20-25 hours per week
Essential Job Functions – Responsibilities
- Designing year-round athletic performance programs for assigned varsity teams
- Assisting the athletic performance staff in the training of MBU student-athletes
- Assisting in daily administrative and maintenance duties
- Assisting in the mentorship and supervision of undergraduate interns
- Participating in staff meetings, weekly assignments, and professional development
- Maintain relationships and communication with sport coaches, athletic training staff, and athletic
performance staff - Participate in fundraising events when necessary
Typical Physical Demands
- Ability to climb several flights of stairs several times a day and move freely on campus
- Ability to crouch, kneel, bend, or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to speak and read English fluently
- Ability to perform essential job functions, with or without a reasonable accommodation
- Ability to lift and move at least 50lbs.
