Missouri Baptist University named a 2021 USA Top Workplace
Today Missouri Baptist University has announced it has earned the 2021 Top Workplaces USA award through Top Workplaces. MBU has been named a Top Workplace by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch since 2013, and ranked in the top 10 this year. This is the inaugural year for Top Workplaces USA to be awarded and MBU is one of only two universities to receive this recognition.
“It is an honor and privilege to serve with so many talented and dedicated faculty and staff who enthusiastically carry out the mission of MBU every day, especially during these challenging times,” said Dr. Keith Ross, president of MBU. “To receive this award not only locally, but nationally is a reflection on just how special it is to serve at MBU.”
Winners of the Top Workplaces USA list are chosen based solely on employee feedback gathered through an employee engagement survey, issued by Energage. Results are calculated by comparing the survey’s research-based statements, including 15 Culture Drivers that are proven to predict high performance against industry benchmarks.
With more than 700 employees, MBU provides full-time faculty and staff comprehensive medical plans, which cover the individual’s premiums at 100 percent. In addition, MBU participates in a notable retirement program—contributing up to 10 percent of an employees’ salary.
Employees who have worked full time for one year and their dependents may enroll in undergraduate courses tuition free, and employees are eligible for 50 percent tuition concession for graduate courses. Employees have substantial time off with vacation, sick days, and nine paid holidays, in addition to spring break and Christmas break per department requirements. Employees receive free membership to MBU’s Sports and Recreation Complex, offering access to an indoor track, a state-of the-art training and fitness center and free fitness classes.
