Trustees Approve Master of Public Health Program, Affirm Faculty Appointments at Fall Meeting
Missouri Baptist University’s Board of Trustees approved the new Master of Public Health program and affirmed several new faculty appointments in its regular fall meeting on Thursday, Oct. 24.
The Master of Public Health program, launching in fall 2025, will educate students about the spread of disease and health risks, health disparities and how to evaluate and shape public health policy. Students in the 36-credit hour, fully online MPH program will also learn how Christian values can improve health care access, strengthen the effectiveness of healthcare systems and promote a more inclusive healthcare culture. Career fields for MPH graduates include epidemiology, community health, global health, environmental health and biostatistics.
In its regular session, the Board also affirmed the appointments of Mr. Tim Ezell as special lecturer of Broadcast Media, Dr. Tamrat Gashaw as assistant professor of Economics, Ms. Brianne Overton as assistant professor of Counseling and Dr. Change Tan as professor of Biology and Biochemistry.
In other news, the Board:
- Approved the 2023-2024 audit.
- Adopted a resolution recognizing donors who have qualified for the President’s Club by giving $1,000 or more to the University between Jan. 1 and Sept. 30, 2024.
- Adopted a resolution in grateful appreciation to Jerry and the late Margie Bishop for their generosity in creating an endowed scholarship.
- Adopted a resolution in appreciation to the family of Gerald and Nelda Rogers for their generosity in creating an endowed scholarship.
