Performance Groups

Founded in 1997, IN CHARACTRE has performed in several states as well as hundreds of local churches. Through short scenes, human videos, and Theatre of the Oppressed, we seek to mirror the Great Creator. We create community within the group by pursuing the common goal of glorifying God and carrying out the Great Commission.

Vertically (Us to God)

• Group and individual prayer (Dan 6:10-11)
• Directed Bible study (Ps 95:6-9)
• Lifting high the name of Christ through drama (John 4:22-26)
• Pursuing excellence knowing God is worthy of our best (Heb 11:4)

Horizontally (Us to Others)

• Disciple one another and hold one another acountable
• Fulfill the Great Commission by loving our neighbor as ourselves and presenting the
• Gospel through drama
• Be an integrated part of campus life
• Actively pursue opportunities to perform in churches, schools, and other public venues

THE AGENCY is MBU’s improv troupe, open to any students, regardless of major. The Agency performs gigs and hosts events both on and off campus, and produces digital content for social media.

Students who perform with In Charactre and The Agency are eligible to receive a performance scholarship, regardless of major.

No preparation for the audition is necessary. We will begin the day with warm ups and cold readings. In Charactre auditionees will participate in a short interview and The Agency auditionees will participate in simple improvisation exercises.
